Popular Mountain Biking Trails surrounding Drifter’s Lodge include:
Crescent Lake Trail
This is one of the best 1 day rides. It has an intermediate trail rating and you will
encounter different types of riding through the forest, streams and then above the tree line to
Crescent Lake, where a rowboat waits for your use. You can catch grayling in the lake and watch float planes land to drop off fisherman. The trail is a single track, about 7 miles up and a great, fast 7 miles back.
Russian River Trail
This is another one of the best 1 day rides, anywhere. There are at least 2 ways to do it but, if you start at the Cooper Lake trail head and finish at Russian Lake trailhead, there is less uphill riding and great downhill. It’s 21 miles and good for all skill levels. You’ll view salmon, glaciers, rivers and lakes. Do not miss this euphoric trail!
Lost Lake Trail
This unbelievable trail is yet another one of the best, with a couple of ways to do it. It has an intermediate rating and features 14 miles of awesome, single track mountain biking. Either way, you will start in the forest; head up through sub alpine meadows, then above the tree line to Lost Lake. The ride is awesome across the lake area. You can come back the same way or proceed to Seward.
Skyline is very technical, crazy difficult and upwards. It goes straight up and straight down. Great vistas of the flats look toward Sterling, Soldotna and Kenai. The trail rating is extreme.
Resurrection Pass Trail
This is simply an awesome trail. It’s advanced, but families with kids do it just fine. Everyone says to start in Hope and end in Cooper Landing and some have called it the best trail in the world. Many writers have even commented about this trail and it is heavily used by Alaska standards.
Let the biking begin!
