Alaska Fly Out Fishing 2008

Drifters Lodge will hook you up with the Alaska Fly Out Fishing Trip you have always dreamed of.  Most Alaskans have not seen the beauty that you will see. The pilots say they never get bored.  It is really amazing to think that it doesn’t matter which trip you choose, you will experience much of what Alaska has to offer in just one trip.  The flight alone gives you a bird’s eye view of Alaska’s wilderness from the time you take off to your lake or stream landing.  Glaciers, wildlife, alpine lakes and streams all from your window seat on the float plane.  The takeoff and landing are a thrill in and of itself.
Alaska Fly Out Fishing gives you an opportunity to fish with no crowds and only the sounds of the surrounding wilderness.  In the remote the options of species are: Grayling, Rainbows, Silvers and Kings.

ALASKA KENAI FISHING for FUN A SHORT DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HAPPENS EACH DAY ON FLY IN TO KVICHEK RIVER (kweee-jak) and MORRAINE CREEK

DAY 1: Clients are picked up by the guide promptly at 6:30 a.m. It is very important that they are ready to load their belongings into the van at that time . We have allowed a few minutes extra for any of the many unforeseen things to hat can slow down the drive to Nikiski.

We usually arrive at the airport in Nikiski at or about 8:00 A.M. and that allows for check in, weigh in, and loading of the gear into the aircraft. Please be aware that weight and size do apply on these flights. There usually are no exceptions since the plane is a bush plane and is limited to these factors. Please be sure to advise clients of this when they are making reservations as many visitors to Alaska have never had the wonderful opportunity for a ride in a bush plane. We want it to be fun and enjoyable for every one.

The flight leaves at 8:30 A.M. and the pilots are very good in keeping the schedule. The airline is Alaska West Air. Flight time to the Kvichek River is approximately two hours. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Upon arrival at the river everyone is loaded into the john boat and taken up to the lodge where they can put their gear into the cabin and then fishing begins until late into the evening.

DAY 2: Early morning start from wake up, breakfast, and getting out on the river is the activity of the day. Lunch time is back at the lodge and time for a little rest if needed before returning to the river. The fishing day ends when the clients are ready to call it a day. They return to the cabin and each one prepares their own meal or whatever they decide. The cabin has a full bath with shower, changing room, nicely equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and furnished for rest and comfort.

DAY 3: Early start again – breakfast over – gear packed and put into the plane and everyone is flown to Morriane Creek where they will fish for the day until about 4:00 P.M. at which time they will load back into the plane and return to Nikiski. Sometimes the return flight does not get off until sometime between 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. The flight is scheduled to be completed by about 7:00 P.M.

There they will load their gear back into the van and will return to Copper Landing about 9:00 P.M. give or take a few minutes. Someone may need a pit stop or a coffee stop or some type of stop en route
