Project Description

Private Cabins

Our private cabins are cozy, rustic, and the perfect place to relax after a full day of fishing or activities on the Kenai Peninsula. If you find it hard to go inside after spending the day immersed in beautiful Alaska scenery, don’t worry. All cabins have spectacular river and mountain views.

Drifters cabins are fully equipped for all your needs. Each cabin has a sleeping loft, living/dining room, kitchenette unit with a 2-burner stove, mini-fridge, and sink, and a bathroom. The cabins have slightly different floor plans and bed layouts, starting at one queen and two twins. Specific bed layouts are shown in the cabin pages.

As with all our lodging, you will be able to use the riverfront Swedish Sauna with views of the Kenai River and mountains, enjoy the nightly riverside campfire and eat breakfast in the Breakfast Nook.

Cabins 1,2,3

Welcome to Drifters Lodge!

All of our cabins were built with guests like you in mind. Our main goal is to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.

Upon entering cabins 1, 2, or 3, you will immediately feel at home. You will notice a beautiful forest behind the cabins, there is a small creek in the forest that also runs behind these cabins, providing a calming and wonderful sound. A sliding glass door leads out back to the porch, which is a great place to relax and enjoy the creek. The private bathroom is located to your left, as you first come inside. The bathroom is stocked with all linens and paper goods you will need during your stay. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and a shower stall. Back in the living room, there is a small but efficient kitchenette. A sink, a dorm sized refrigerator and a two burner stove top.

If there is anything we are missing, do not hesitate to ask one of our helpful staff members. We also have charcoal grills available for your personal use. The living room has a fantastic view down to the campfire area as well as a great view of the Chugach Mountains that surround our lodge. There is a very comfortable couch which folds out to a queen sleeper with fresh linens.

As you head up the stairs, you will notice our walls adorned with beautiful artwork by local artists. Upstairs in the main sleeping area, there is a queen bed and two twin beds. The quilts in all the beds have been handmade by a wonderful local quilting group.

Each of the cabins at Drifters Lodge offers incredible views of the Kenai River from the upstairs room. We are in the “Land of the Midnight Sun”, and in the summer, it is often difficult to get used to all of the sunlight. We have thick drapes for all of the windows to ensure you are able to get a good night’s sleep before your fishing or rafting excursion the next day.

You will find this on almost each page on our website, but please remember that we are here to make your stay with us an unforgettable experience. If there is ever anything we can do to make your stay in our cabins more like home, please ask!

Cabin 4

Handicap Accessible Cabin

Cabin 4 is our handicap accessible cabin and also the closest to the river and campfire pit. The ramp up to the front door is easy for wheelchairs and leads to a nice porch which overlooks the campfire pit and has great views of the Kenai River and the Chugach Mountains. The porch is a great place to sit back and enjoy the sights.

Inside Cabin 4, we have a comfortable couch that will fold into a queen sleeper, with fresh linens. All windows have thick drapes that will help you get a good night sleep before your big day of fishing on the Mighty Kenai River. There is a small refrigerator in the living area in Cabin 4. We also have a nice table right by the window, providing a spot to play games at night or to sit at and enjoy the beautiful views that surround us.

On the main floor, there is a queen bed, providing a very comfortable place for our guests in wheelchairs or who have difficulty with stairs, to rest their heads. The bathroom is also on the main floor. The shower is easily accessible for wheelchairs, with metal handrails in the shower to help you out. All linens and paper goods are provided in the bathrooms. Fresh towels are available upon request, we try our best to conserve water and this is a small but useful way to help. Our bathrooms have a toilet and a shower. Right next to the bathroom, there is a kitchenette, providing a sink and a two burner stovetop. The counter is at wheelchair level and is also open below, so all can access the cooking area and sink. All dishes, utensils, linens and paper goods are provided in the kitchenettes.

If there is anything we are missing, do not hesitate to ask one of our helpful staff members. All cabins come with their own gas grill for your personal use. Up a steep set of stairs, you will find a cozy sleeping room with four twin beds. Each has a handmade quilt, providing warmth and a homey feel. For a family with young kids, this cabin is ideal. Kids love the sleeping area upstairs.

You will find this on almost each page on our website, but please remember that we are here to make your stay with us an unforgettable experience. If there is ever anything we can do to make your stay in our cabins more like home, please ask.
