kenai river cabinsThe highly-anticipated Kenai River salmon fishing season is nearly here in jaw-dropping Cooper Landing, Alaska. We’re eagerly counting the days and gearing up for yet another exciting summer here at Kenai River Drifters Lodge. One of the most important aspects of a salmon fishing trip – besides world-class guides, good weather, and monsters runs – is the quality of the on-site accommodations. Luckily for you and your group of anglers, Drifters Lodge has a small fleet of hand-crafted Kenai River cabins along the water’s edge. We offer anglers a wide variety of overnight accommodations, including log homes, cabins, and classic guest rooms. In an effort to provide prospective anglers with a “taste” of our rustic, comfortable accommodations, we’ve hand-selected four of our favorite Kenai River cabins!

Russian House

While the Russian House is technically not labeled a “cabin,” it’s a hand-crafted log home that visually resembles a cabin. The Russian House is easily one of our most popular Kenai River cabins among visiting anglers mainly because this three-bedroom private home rests along the teal waters of the world-famous Kenai River. The riverfront campfire area is the perfect place to reminisce about an unforgettable day spent baiting and hooking massive salmon with friends new and old. This newly-remodeled, 1,400-square-foot log home has satellite television, a modern kitchen, wireless internet, and two full bathrooms.

Cabin 4

Cabin 4 is not only located within steps of the river, our Swedish sauna, and the communal fire pit, but it’s also one of our wheelchair accessible Kenai River cabins. The Chugach Mountain views are second-to-none from this cabin’s sizable porch. A lot of families with young children choose Cabin 4 because it has four comfy beds in one room – perfect for late-night shenanigans!

The five-bedroom River House is perfect for large groups, including church groups, reunions, and clubs. It’s one of our prized Kenai River cabins because of its sheer size, stone fireplace, and easy access to the teal river, campfire area, and Swedish sauna. The River House also has a sizable deck with two grills in case you want to devour your recently-filleted catch!

Cabin 6

The nearly identical cabins 5 and 6 are two of our largest Kenai River cabins at 600 square feet. Unlike most Cooper Landing lodging, Cabin 6 has two queen-sized beds, two twins, a river-view porch, and hot showers! As you take a quick tour around your new home-away-from-home, you’ll notice inspiring local art, hand-stitched quilts, and, of course, those stellar Kenai River vistas. The time to book well-deserved Alaska salmon fishing trips to jaw-dropping Cooper Landing is right now as we’re filling fast for the upcoming season!
